Dear Reader,

My journey with crocheting has started when I was 10 years old. Simultaneously, I was introduced to the art of embroidery and later knitting, but above all I prefer crocheting which became my ‘yoga’. I am a very modest person who enjoys simplicity and practicality in life. The same are the fruits of my hands - they are all functional and meaningful. I consider myself as an eco-friendly person, and thus, I am using organic and natural fibres in all of my projects. This results in slightly higher prices for the items available for sale. I have personally tested different materials, and the natural fibres are not only breathable but very comfortable to wear and most of all durable. Overall, it is a better value for money for a long-term use. 

Thank you for visiting my blog. This is the first blog of mine, which I would like to dedicate to the crochet projects I have already done or I am currently working on during my leisure time.

  • I will try to provide a through description for each post to make it possible  for you to re-create the same. 
  • I am also going to write posts in two languages, Polish which is my mother tongue, and English which I am using on daily basis. My preferred "crochet language" is American English as it better resembles my mother tongue once translated. 
  • All of the photographs shown on this blog will be black and white as I decided to leave a space for your imagination - use the colours you like not the colours which have been chosen by somebody else.  
  • I believe that blog is a platform where everyone learns. Place your comments about my posts, say what do you like or you do not like. From my end, I promise to write not also about my successful projects but also about my failures. 
  • All infographics I use on my blog were downloaded from the FLATICON and I would like to thank the authors herein for making them available free of charge!

Drogi Czytelniku,

Moja przygoda z szydełkowaniem rozpoczęła się, gdy miałam 10 lat. Jednocześnie, zainteresowałam się sztuką haftu, a później i dzierganiem na drutach, jednak nade wszystko uwielbiam szydełkowanie, które stało się moją "jogą". Jestem bardzo skromną osobą, która cieszy się prostotą i funkcjonalnością w życiu.  Takie same są również wytwory moich rąk - są krótko mówiąc użyteczne.  W trosce o środowisko, korzystam wyłącznie z naturalnych włókien we wszystkich swoich pracach. Mój wybór skutkuje nieco wyższą ceną za końcowy produkt, jednak testowałam różne materiały i szczerze przyznaję, że najlepsze są te naturalne, ponieważ są to włókna oddychające, przyjemne w dotyku, ale najważniejsze długotrwałe. Podsumowując, włókna naturalne stanowią lepszą inwestycję długoterminową.  

Dziękuję za odwiedziny mojego bloga. Ten blog jest moim pierwszym blogiem, który chciałabym w całości poświęcić szydełkowym robótkom, które już zrobiłam bądź nad którymi aktualnie pracuję.

  • Postaram się każdy artykuł opisać w wyczerpujący sposób tak, aby każdą przedstawioną na zdjęciu robótkę można było odtworzyć. 
  • Zamierzam wszystkie artykuły pisać w dwóch językach, polskim - moim ojczystym, oraz angielskim - którego używam na co dzień.
  •  Wszystkie zdjęcia pokazane natym blogu będą czarno-białe, żeby pobudzić Waszą wyobraźnię. Wybierajcie kolory, które lubicie, a nie te, które ktoś inny już skomponował. 
  • Wierzę, że blog stanowi płaszczyznę edukacyjną, z której każdy może skorzystać. Piszcie komentarze na temat moich artykułów, co się Wam podoba, a co nie. Ja, z mojej strony obiecuję, że będę opisywała projekty nie tylko te, które mi się udały, ale również i te, które zakończyły się fiaskiem. 
  • Wszystkie obrazki graficzne, które wykorzystuję na swoim blogu pochodzą ze strony FLATICON. Korzystając z okazji chciałabym podziękować serdecznie ich autorom za bezpłatny dostęp.

This is an example of very popular corner-to-corner throw / blanket/afghan designed by Catherine Watson for the yarn producer Red Heart, where you can find a detailed description available free of charge. Mike from the CrochetCrowd has also uploaded a step-by-step tutorial on YouTube. I must say that this tutorial is very good, even for the absolute beginners. Thanks to Mike I was able to make this afghan by myself. If you would like to make this blanket by yourself, then only 3 basic techniques you should know, i.e. chain, slip stitch and double crochet (US; treble crochet - UK). The Polish translation contains also a description of the pattern since it is not made available in this language. After a month of work in the evenings and weekends, whenever I found some free time, I finally completed this blanket. Basket wave hat / Czapka szachownica - plecionka

Today I would like to present a very simple pattern for a winter hat - "basket wave" or "chess board" - which is done from the top to the bottom. The pattern consists of chain stitches, slip stitches and double crochets (BR treble crochets) only. It is not only very easy to make but it also looks interesting. I have already done a hat this way as a Christmas gift for my brother. The measurement given below is for the hat I made for an adult person. The hook size was adjusted to the yarn, and in this project I applied a 4 mm hook. This was a good tight fit as requested. Let's start from creating a magic circle. Chain 3 stitches, which equals to one double crochet (BR treble crochet). Double (filet) crochet pot holders / Łapki do garnków - słupki - szydełkowanie okienkowe

Today I would like to present an interesting pattern for kitchen pot holders made using a filet crochet method. Pot holders were made with the leftover 100% cotton yarn (Drops Paris - col. 35 vanilla) from a different project. The recommended size of the hook for this yarn is 5 mm (US - size 8/H; UK - 6). However, I found it easier to work with 4 mm hook (US - 6/G; UK - 8) instead. To crochet a single pot-holder without a border and decorations a 50 g of yarn is just perfect. To make 2 pot-holders overall I used slightly less than 150 g of yarn. The pattern I followed comes from a blog of Marifu6a.
