One of my this year new resolutions was (and still is!) to make 3 crochet dresses, for my mum, my sister-in-law and myself. I have recently finished a dress for my sister-in-law, which overall took me about a month to make. I used a pattern published in a Russian journal, which luckily for me, had an easy to follow diagram of a round motif. The size of a motif is 8 cm (before blocking), and it gets extended to 9 cm (after blocking). The original pattern is designed for the size of 14/16 UK (42/44 EUR, 12/14 US, 46/48 RUS). Since my sister-in-law is a tall and slim lady, thus, I needed to modify the original motif set up. For the size of 10/12 UK (38/40 EUR, 8/10 US) I made overall 116 of motives, which later on I sewed together manually using a yarn needle. I used 100% mercerised cotton (Rico - Essentials crochet, col. 18 - silver) and a crochet hook of 2 mm size. I added a border around the neck using a shell stitch (escalope).
